The Senior Data Modeler is primarily responsible for defining business data requirements and translating those data requirements into logical and physical database models. The design of the database models will include operational databases, analytical data warehouses, and specific data marts designed to support batch, operational, and analytical processing and ad hoc business reporting.
Must have Excellent communication skills
� Knowledge of and ability to use office support tools available at the desktop (for example: word processing, e-mail, presentation software and spreadsheets). Knowledge of practices, behaviors, applicable laws, rules and regulations governing proper business conduct.
� Additional Skills and Abilities a Plus:
o Application development experience
o Business Objects XI,,Brio
o TWS batch scheduling tool
o Informatica Power Center, Informatica Power Exchange
o Data quality tools
o System Architect
o Sybase database experience including querying tools such as SQL Advantage
o Sybase Replication
o PVCS
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
� Gather and document business requirements, translate business requirements to technical specifications, project estimating support and identifying cost implications.
� Create, document, and maintain logical and physical database models.
� Mentor application development team and assist developers with complex query development and performance optimization.
� Proactive monitoring of system performance and diagnostics.
� Assist with production support and maintenance. |
