| Description: | A $4 billion Tier 1 and 2 automotive supplier of safety equipment is looking for a Design Software Engineer for our Pontiac, Michigan location. We are an industry leader in seat belts, air bags, steering wheels, interior components and safety systems/electronics.
MAJOR JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
� Works in support of Embedded Software design group for Advanced Product Development. Coordinate with Software design group lead to implement automotive SW process
� Design, develop and implement embedded SW for electronics modules to meet automotive application requirements (ISO 1735, ISO 26262 and ISO 22900)
� Work directly with systems and electrical engineers to implement and test electromechanical system functional prototypes
� Debug Software prototypes (working with system and electrical engineers to resolve functional issues in lab)
� Implement Software interface requirements for engineering team
� Coordinate SW requirements with electrical engineering and test engineering team members
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
� A bachelor degree in electrical engineering/computer science
� Expert skill level in embedded C software development with 5+ years related experience
� 2+ years experience in development of embedded automotive software
� Software testing experience including knowledge of several methodologies and use of COTS tools
� 2+ years work experience with MATLAB
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
� A graduate degree in electrical engineering /computer science
� Software simulation using Simulink, Matlab and specialized Matlab toolboxes
� High speed digital design experience including FPGA
� Experience developing real-time software development for active sensing systems
� Experience with programming applications on a Linux platform
NICE TO HAVES:
� Experience in multiprocessor system development is preferred
� Automotive Infotainment and/or security system software development experience
� Experience on Freescale MPC5121 and/or STMicroelectronics Bolera Chipset
� Experience with communication protocols such as SPI, UART, I2C and CAN
� Familiarity with numerical methods and algorithm implementation
