Position Summary
Plante Moran is seeking a motivated, passionate person to fill the SharePoint Specialist role. This dedicated professional will have the opportunity to work in a challenging, fast paced, team-based, and constantly evolving technology environment, and build an expertise in the Microsoft SharePoint platform (fastest growing business software product in Microsoft history). Plante Moran�s SharePoint environment includes our firm intranet, internet, as well as internal and external collaboration solutions built on the latest SharePoint 2010 platform. We are also in the process of building on the platform to deliver Enterprise Content Management for all our different practice areas.

The right individual will have the ability to understand the business needs and know how the technical capabilities can be effectively applied.
The role of the SharePoint Support Specialist is to provide support to Plante Moran staff members and clients of the firm, via the telephone and remote support tools, for the Firm�s SharePoint solutions. The Specialist should possess a broad knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, the integrated solutions, as well as the business processes and activities it enables. The Specialist is responsible for working with the team to determine how we can provide the best-in-class support for these solutions to Plante Moran staff members and external clients. In addition, they will play a key role in ensuring effective use of the various solutions and help deliver appropriate business value.
| | Duties: |
- Primary responsibility is to assist staff members and clients over the phone with the firm�s SharePoint platform, which includes KnowledgeSHARE (intranet), plantemoran.com (internet), and the Collaboration Center (firm wide collaboration and content management solution). Key expectations include:
- Provide proactive training to staff and clients during resolution of incidents and in more formal sessions (in person or online) to increase adoption and use of best practices
- Review Helpdesk trending reports and identify appropriate action items to appropriately address (Training, communications, KnowledgeBASE articles, etc.)
- Assist SharePoint Administrators with system administration responsibilities in order to maintain high availability and meet system performance expectations
- Maintain and help prioritize both the Issues list and Enhancement list
- Assist SharePoint Power Users with the proactive business focus for the various solutions, which includes ensuring staff and clients are able to effectively leverage solutions and provide training information and best practices
- Assist project teams in the delivery of new solutions on the SharePoint platform, and ensure Helpdesk has the appropriate training and capability to support the new solution
- As needed participation in the Weekly Maintenance Window to update, change, and install various systems
- Understand business process and impact of issues/questions related to the SharePoint platform, and provide appropriate solutions to staff and external clients on escalated incidents
- Ensure the Helpdesk is appropriately trained on the SharePoint solutions and provides consistent resolutions to various issues/questions from staff and clients
- Review and oversee KnowledgeBASE articles to ensure they cover the appropriate scope for clients and staff, and are well written so that they can be easily leveraged by staff, clients, and other technology team members

- Experience troubleshooting, supporting, and/or administering Microsoft SharePoint preferred, but not required
- 3+ years of progressive Microsoft support experience
- Passionate about learning new technology and able to learn quickly
- Candidate must maintain a �Clients come first� philosophy � client expectations must be exceeded
- Must work well with peers to achieve common goals and lead by example in support of the �We care� philosophy
- Ability to understand the client�s needs and create the optimal solution to match those needs
- Candidate must be self-motivated, demonstrate very strong initiative, and able to prioritize and self-direct work
- Ability to successfully manage the overall process of incident resolution from initial call through resolution.
- Ability to follow-up on escalated issues to ensure timely resolution
- Ability to document incidents and resolutions completely
- Strong troubleshooting and overall problem solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Travel & Hours:
- This is an exempt position that may require some Saturday work hours and overtime during workweek.
- Candidate must be available to work between the hours of 7:00am and 7:00pm, including some weekends and after-hours.
- Qualified individuals must either reside in or near the Metro Detroit area or be willing to relocate to the area for this opportunity.
