| Description: | Main Purpose of the Job:
The Validation Engineer is responsible for planning and executing test campaigns to ensure that company seat systems and components meet reliability, customer and governmental requirements.
Main Duties/Activities:
� Prepares and maintains the DVP&R test plan based on program requirements and program timing.
� Keeps up-to-date on customer, governmental, and professional association test standards.
� Reviews customer and internal technical specifications and procedures.
� Develops internal test procedures when required.
� Understands pass/fail criteria for testing.
� Executes the test program to meet program timing through:
- Verifying seat content and proper assembly.
- Coordinating test scheduling with the labs. Ensures the accuracy of the lab�s work by giving them clear, complete technical direction.
- Writing shippers / purchase orders / test requests.
- Receiving invoices for completed work.
- Reviewing test set-ups and test reports for accuracy.
- Analyzing test data.
- Root causing non-conformances and assisting in developing design recommendations.
- Participating in design and program reviews when required.
- Acting as the liaison between the customer and the program team for all test related topics.
- Communicating and presenting test program status and issues to the program team and the customer.
- Working closely with Quality and FEA to assure understanding of test procedures and requirements.
� Assists management in efforts to reduce overall test costs through:
- Internal test productivity improvements.
- Outside test cost reductions.
- Minimizing the number of tests by using statistical analysis (reliability and confidence).
- Reducing the number of parts needed through sample reuse.
� Maintains understanding of testing facility capabilities.
� Assists product engineers with completion of the DFMEA.
Specific Responsibilities:
� Maintains and updates DVP&R Plans.
� Maintains a strong familiarity with specific customer and governmental test specifications.
� Has a working knowledge of Customer requirements, test specification and methods.
Skills and Know-How:
� Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
� Knowledge in the design of seat components and mechanisms
� Working knowledge of statistics / Reliability & Confidence methods / Weibull Analysis
� Strong familiarity with automotive test methods, standards, and regulatory requirements � US & International
� Good oral and written communication skills
� Good interpersonal skills
� Per salary training plan matrix.
� Drug and Background Check Required.
