Our rapid growth and increasing demands for our services has created a need for a highly motivated individual to join our Technology Services team as a Manufacturing Costing Sr. Consultant in our Southfield office.

• Perform cost modeling using relevant advanced techniques as appropriate (ABC, Throughput Accounting, Lean Accounting, Resource Costing, etc.
• Planning, facilitating, and supporting complex methodology development and evaluation, business process re-engineering, and identifying best practices, change management, business management techniques, and organizational development.
• Providing activity and data modeling, developing modern business methods, identifying best practices, creating and assessing performance measurements, and providing group facilitation, interviewing, and training.
• Reviewing the relevant modules for systems improvement
• Assisting client in the development of organizational process assets for use in future projects such as document templates, project plans and procedures.
• Assisting in the production of training materials, presentations, spreadsheets, flowcharts and diagrams in support of client mission achievement. Provide recommendations and corresponding documentation for business process improvements and potential business process reengineering.
• Preparing reports (briefings, white papers, decision papers, and memoranda) on business process improvements and activities as needed to ensure the appropriate integration into client operations.
• Support the development of a plan and transition of new manufacturing systems at a site to ensure readiness and comprehension of change.
• Communicates project status and issues to the project manager(s) to ensure timely resolution and achievement of project milestones.
• Lead continuous improvement review existing applications and determining feasibility of new applications prior to development.
• Support the implementation of manufacturing systems software with follow on support to ensure all existing business requirements have been met with an overall improvement to operational efficiency.
• Promotes the identification of new technology to lead in the identification of new methods to reduce cost in manufacturing systems projects.
• Provides input when purchasing decisions need to be made for manufacturing equipment with regards to support for systems interface and automation.
• Works to mentor and utilize supportive efforts of other department personnel to develop applications, implement changes, etc. and gains acceptance of new or revised processes and implementation procedures.
• Serve as subject matter expert and data steward for all unit operations in area of responsibility.
• Provide knowledge of the data relationships, business requirements and metadata attributed to all enterprise reporting repositories in assigned areas.
• Act as the liaison to the user community and the data warehouse team for change requests and issue resolution within their content area.
• Support development and adoption of company best practices for software. Support and champion user groups as required.
• Engage in client expansion and cross-serving with substantial fees sold goal; recognizes importance of lead generation
• Assist in preparing proposals and engagement letters; may take lead role in proposal development
• Interact with other practice areas including but not limited to audit, tax, and other management consulting service groups
• Apply process consulting skills to support practice development efforts
• Participate in �non-proposal� practice development activities
• Assist in billing activities
• Satisfy internal reporting requirements
• Effectively execute individual project tasks, with some focus on overall project objectives

• 8 - 12 years of recent or current manufacturing costing experience in a medium to large manufacturing company, the technology solutions practice of a public accounting firm or technical consulting firm with at least a minimum of eight years� experience specifically in manufacturing cost systems
• Ability to organize work and staff effectively and to meet deadlines
• Must be knowledgeable in manufacturing ERP systems, particularly costing, inventory control, bills of material, production routings, and work order applications.
• Proven ability to maintain budgetary control over projects
• Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting position for at least 75 percent of the time.
• Person in position needs to occasionally move about the inside of the office to access copier machines, file cabinets, etc.
• Person in position frequently communicates with staff who have inquires. Must be able to exchange information in these situations.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver�s license are required including a clean driving record; minimum levels of auto insurance coverage are required

Travel & Hours

• This is an exempt position that may require some Saturday work hours and overtime during workweek.
• Qualified individuals must either reside in or near Southfield or be willing to relocate to the area for this opportunity.
• 50% travel is required with this position.
