Test Technician

Description:


Primary Function: Provide test technician expertise in a multiple shift laboratory and/or vehicle testing team reporting to the Testing Supervisor.

This position could be located in either the Detroit, MI location or the Dearborn, MI location.



Core Responsibilities:
�Perform initial parts set-up including digital pictures, micrometer measurements, visual inspections, installation of thermocouples, test fixture builds and parts labeling
�Analyze final measurements on post-test parts and verify test specifications in order to provide engineering reports that meet customer specifications
�Conduct performance brake testing on a variety of vehicle types at off-site customer proving ground locations (vehicle performance drivers only)
�Perform customer-related activities that will promote new jobs and repeat customers
�Read and understand test specifications for inertia dynamometer, vehicle and component bench testing projects (laboratory technicians)
�Use a Windows based computer system to access relevant test procedures and quality system documents, enter measurement data, store and retrieve files from the network, etc.
�Monitor tests in progress to ensure they are running to specification
�Maintain a clean and organized work area and comply with all safety requirements



Minimum Requirements:
�Post high school technical degree or certificate or 2 years relevant work experience in an automotive engineering laboratory, automotive repair, heavy truck repair or electronics
�Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and computer based file structures
�Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
�Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
�Able work overtime as required



Other:
�Must have own mechanics hand tools or the ability to acquire tools.
�Must have a satisfactory driving record and a valid drivers license.
