| Description: | The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to all areas of the plant. He/She will aid in the trouble shooting of equipment and/or product problems, input in the development of new product, continually work toward process improvements, and support quality system to TS16949 standards.
1. Provide technical assistance to the various departments within the plant in the areas of analytical trouble shooting, process improvements, cost improvements, equipment upgrades or installations, capability studies, customer documentation, and communication.
2. Provide support in the areas of Manufacturing equipment knowledge, tooling design, manufacturing and machining practices, pneumatic and hydraulic system design, trouble shooting issues, knowledge of the product and its design, maintaining TS16949 certification, environmental and OSHA requirements
3. Recommend, plan, and manage capital and maintenance projects to improve quality, production and costs.
4. Continuing support for the development and maintenance of TS16949 certification, including continuous improvements, Tooling management control, preventive actions, preventive and predictive maintenance, corrective action, internal auditing, and work instructions.
5. Assist in the education and training of plant personnel on processes, equipment operation, and process management tools.
6. Input in the development of new products via the APQP Process, by determining process specifications, recommending equipment needed for the new product and determining in-process controls required to satisfy the customers� expectations. (i.e. process FMEA, Process Flow Diagram, and Control Plan).
7. This position has the authority to stop a manufacturing process at any time in order to investigate a product, process, environmental issue, quality system nonconformances or to prevent suspect product from further processing. In addition, they are authorized to initiate action to prevent occurrence of nonconformances, identify and record problems, recommend solutions to nonconformances found within their control and to verify the implementation of solutions. Lastly, this position has the authority to represent the needs of the customer in internal functions addressing TS16949 requirements that are within their control.
8. Serve on a project or permanent teams as required to address special issues or problems.
