Description:Position Summary:

Applies knowledge of automotive design, engineering principles, manufacturing processes and limitations, and conventional and computer drafting techniques and procedures to design and develop automotive interior components.

Position Responsibilities:

� Draws rough sketches and performs mathematical computations to develop design and work out detailed specifications of components
� Performs preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts and final master drawings adequate for detailing parts and units of design
� Prepares major cost studies consisting of new details and/or marked prints and all supporting documentation
� Makes revisions to size, shape and arrangement of parts to create practical design
� Create complex concept layouts. Model simple or complex parts as well as dependent components
� Develop new designs and re-designs, using internal or external prints, models, sketches and verbal instructions
� Component design experience (door panels, consoles and/or instrumentation panels) and understand tooling for plastic components.
� Define and apply GD&T for both assemblies and dependent components
� Capable of exporting and importing
� Plan for overall project and component design timing


Essential Skills and Experience:

� Minimum five years automotive mechanical design tooling and fixture experience
� UG is preferred. Catia experience is not a requirement.
� Associates degree or better in CAD design in related field is preferred
� Familiarity with Injection Molding
� Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.
� Must be able to take direction and be willing and able to complete all tasks assigned
� Must be able to work core hours and overtime
� Ability to work independently and as a team member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
� Ability to travel internationally
