Customer Liaison - Quality

Description:TRAVEL TO FREMONT, CA FOR 2 WEEKS A MONTH

General Purpose of this Position:

Work involves working with our customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues, implement and monitor quality planning and provide technical support. Applies diversified knowledge of quality engineering principles and practices to produce and/or coordinate the solutions to complex problems. Considerable creativity and initiative are required. A high level of independent judgment is required with limited direction from the supervisor.

Key Job Elements and Responsibilities:

� Implement and monitor advanced quality planning with selected future product suppliers.
� Assure supplier understanding of product and submission requirements.
� Provide technical support to customers during start up activities.
� Determine cause of supplier quality problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions.
� Function as a technical resource for less experienced supplier quality engineers.
� Maintain required documentation and files.
� Determine part issues, photograph, write up and share with group engineering.
� Review part design.
� May participate as member or resources to product development teams.
� Regularly exchange information with others inside and outside the work group.

Skills and Abilities:

� Very highly proficiency in plastic injection molding parts.
� Demonstrated thorough knowledge of geometric design and tolerance and gage design and function.
� Demonstrated thorough knowledge of probability, statistical quality control and design of experiments.
� Demonstrated thorough knowledge of manufacturing and assembly plant processes, procedures, facilities and equipment.
� Demonstrated expertise in investigating complex quality problems and applying sound technical judgment to develop possible solutions.
� Highly proficient oral and written communications skills.
� Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills to effectively lead, motivate and facilitate others in group situations and instruct others in new techniques.
� Very high level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution where problems are complex.
� Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience:

� College degree or equivalent experience.
� Minimum of 5 years of experience in plastics manufacturing, quality or engineering including experience in providing solutions.
