Job Description:
FUNCTION: Provide technical assistance to the PTAC Grants Administrator and business clients served by the PTAC.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Provide direct assistance to business clients in use of web sites and other online resources related to procurement of government contracts.
-Provide client follow-up, including proofreading and facilitating completion of applications, certifications, registrations and other procurement documents required for clients to do business with government entities.
-Communicate with businesses located in Macomb, Lapeer, St. Clair, Sanilac, Huron and Tuscola Counties by phone, fax, e-mail or in person
-Research technical data including military specifications and standards, technical data packages, Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS) reports and procurement histories
-Participation in the PTAC's of MI network for pertinent trainings and meetings
-Coordinate and plan events including seminars, trainings and conferences
-Coordinate activities and meetings with Local, State and Federal agencies including military personnel
-Create and disseminate surveys to assess client satisfaction, the need for implementation of additional trainings, and other information to facilitate and enhance PTAC services.
-Collect data for and initiate PTAC counseling and statistical reports for submission to funding agencies and/or relevant partners (i.e. the Defense Logistics Agency, Michigan Economic Development Corporation)
-Serve as liaison between PTAC and other College departments
-Coordinate and participate in marketing and community outreach activities, including the creation and distribution of client newsletters
-Create/update PTAC web page for both College and PTAC's of Michigan website
-Participate in professional development opportunities as assigned
-Coordinate and distribute information/statistics for media releases and advisories
-Create and design PTAC training materials, and documents in both electronic and paper formats
-Maintain physical and material organization and inventory of department files, program, promotional, and historical materials
-Perform other duties as assigned

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to the PTAC Grants Administrator.

SUPERVISION GIVEN: May supervise part time employees as assigned.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Associates degree.

EXPERIENCE: Experience in project management, troubleshooting and follow-up on projects and assignments.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Computer and technical skills required. Experience with or a willingness to learn Electronic Commerce, Excel, Access, and Microsoft Outlook, PTAssist bid match database, and EDI. Basic Internet skills required. Knowledge of government contracting and procurement terminology a plus. Must provide extensive customer service with courtesy and concerned attention to individual needs. Must have previous experience providing assistance with diverse populations and industries and possess excellent communication skills. Must be able to obtain civilian security clearance for entering military bases and units.

Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Usual office conditions, but in-state travel will be required.
